Wood timbers deteriorate over time and can become a home for unwanted pests. Concrete will not rot and will never become infested with insects.
Plastic edging is flimsy, will come loose requiring reinstallation, and can be damaged easily by trimmers and lawnmowers. Once our concrete cures, your lawnmower will not shift the curbing and when using a string trimmer (vs. a metal bladed trimmer), your equipment will not damage the curbing.
Pavers are comparable in price, but by the time you double stack them and back fill your beds with top soil and, not to mention the time you have to invested leveling the ground and moving the pavers from your driveway to your garden, ProCurb edging is the perfect substitute- colors to match your home, no gaps in the curbing, plus the flexibility of straight lines to contoured shapes and, did I mention, we do the work.
ProCurb uses integral colors which mean that we add pigment while the concrete is mixing. The color is all the way the through and is not a color coating or a stain on the surface of the curbing. In the event a shovel strikes the concrete and chips, the curbing is the same color below the surface. Several of our competitors use a color coating, and if chipped, you will see the base concrete just a 1/8" below the colored surface.
